Two roots, twisting together in a divine tangle. Did they intend to marry so beautifully as to make a strong, unbreakable rope? Or was it up to fate that they commune so purposefully? The Tangle, representing strength in unity, is a design that my adornments are founded upon. I placed a similarly designed ring upon her left hand years ago, wearing it every day since as an individual declaration of her connectedness to all things. Though not in a relationship with anyone but myself and my art at the time, to me, the ring represented this union of her two selves — humanness and divinity — their beauty in recognition of each other, and their new strength in coming together as a unit of twisting shapes.
Wavy and sinuous on the outside, soft and flat on the inside, the Tangle reminds us of our strength in numbers, and the simplicity of coming together in conscious communion — for self-love, for other-love, for love that proclaims itself to create an unbreakable beauty. The Tangle reminds us what a blessing it is to love another, outside of oneself, and similarly, that the foundation of other-love is self-love. How can we recognize the whole if we cannot recognize the parts?
Wear the Tangle as your declaration of self-love, and in gratitude of being able to live a life of unity with others.
